Bill Hadfield is working in a new way, sourcing his timber from what has gone unnoticed, starting from the tree not the plank - the natural form

"I work to reveal what nature has created- BEAUTY."

Bill is looking to save timber, otherwise discarded and in danger from fire or flood. The trees he uses are of no interest to the timber industry as they cannot be converted into planks. By using discarded materials and recycling Bill is saving natural resources
.

Now no 'nasty chemicals' are
used either. The chair itself will remain useable for many years furniture that becomes part of the garden ecosystem.
The outer layers may age and weather but the heartwood is naturally durable.

None of this would be possible without the help of local estates and the Forestry Commission. I would particularly like to thank David Sykes, Forester at Queenswood, Forest of Dean.
